Gratitude in the Gardens (January 2026)

Gratitude in the Gardens (January 2026)

Date: Friday, January 9, 2026 from 12pm-2pm

Instructor: Jennifer Bueno-Hutchens is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Jennifer is also an outdoor horticulturist on staff at UNC Charlotte's Botanical Gardens.

Description: Join us for silent, meditative walks through the Van Landingham Glen. Led by Jennifer, these forest strolls will include meditative prompts around the practice of gratitude. Sessions may include meditative art materials as well.

The attitude of gratitude is not just a self-help phrase but a mindset. It means making it a conscious habit to express thankfulness and appreciation for every part of your life. This session is part instructor lead and part self-guided. This is a walking meditation, not an exercise, hiking, or jogging, but simply being in nature and connecting with it through our sense of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.

Cost: $30
$25 for UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens Members (with valid discount code)
Free for UNC Charlotte Students, faculty and staff (with valid UNC Charlotte ID number)

MUST PRE-REGISTER (below) to reserve a spot. Each event is limited to 12 people.

Parking: Please note that UNC Charlotte does require a valid parking permit to park on campus Monday-Friday. If you do not hold a permit, we recommend that you park in a visitor deck. These decks currently cost $5 for the first hour, and $2 for each additional hour. There is a $15 a day maximum charge. We also have 5 free visitor spots directly in front of the Greenhouse. Those spots are first come, first serve, and often fill up quickly.
